Why we built Niloosa
A quiet idea: that a hand-painted masterpiece belongs on an ordinary wall, not just a museum's.
Niloosa started with a frustration we kept running into. The art we loved most lived behind glass, in cities we rarely visited, at prices no one we knew could reach. Meanwhile the painters we admired, genuinely gifted people, were doing extraordinary work that too few people ever saw.
So we built a bridge. You choose a piece you love, either a public-domain masterpiece or an original from one of our painters, and say what you'd pay. A real artist takes it on and paints it by hand, for you. No factory prints, no middle-men marking things up beyond reason.
We kept the money side deliberately simple: a deposit holds your commission, the painter starts, and you settle the rest on delivery. Everyone stays protected, and everyone gets paid.
That's the whole idea: good art, made by hand, within reach, and a fair living for the people who make it.

Niloosa began on one painter's easel. Niloofar's.
Niloofar Ensafian has been painting for about as long as she can remember drawing. She learned the way the old painters did, copying the masters stroke by stroke until their choices became her own instinct, then spent years finding her own hand in oil and canvas.
She started Niloosa for a plain reason. Friends kept asking her to paint the pictures they loved but could never own. One commission turned into many, and those turned into a belief: that anyone should be able to live with a real, hand-painted piece, not a poster of one.
She still paints from a small studio, signs every canvas she finishes, and personally vouches for the other painters who join her here. When a piece leaves Niloosa, someone's hours are in it.

Nothing here is printed. Each commission is drawn out, blocked in, and built up in layers over days, the same slow craft the originals were made with. The ridge of the brush, the depth of layered colour, the small human imperfections: that's the point, and it's what arrives on your wall.

I paint pictures, I don't print them. A reproduction should carry the same weight as the original: the ridge of a brushstroke, the warmth of layered colour, the small imperfections that tell you someone stood in front of this canvas for days. That's what I want to send to your wall.
